Lasik Vision Correction Procedure: A Simple Alternative
Vision problems and vision conditions have been multiplying at epidemic proportions. These problems have not been isolated, but rather occur globally. What does it consist of?

Lasik eye surgery is a very simple procedure. A device called a microkeratome is used to slice a flap off the top of the cornea which the surgeon folds back out of the way. Then the surgeon removes part of the corneal tissue located underneath the flap with a laser instrument called an excimer.
The flap on the cornea is laid back into place which will cover the area where it was removed from once the cornea has been reshaped the correct way and the surgeon doesn't need to make any more adjustments. The goal of the surgeon with nearsighted patients is to flatten the too-steep cornea, therefore with farsighted patients, the surgeon will create a steeper cornea.
One of the best features of lasik eye surgery is that it carries a very low degree of risk. However, this doesn't mean that you should not try to find a surgeon with an excellent track record with such eye surgery.
The first thing that needs to happen in regards to undergoing Lasik surgery would be to determine if you are an eligible candidate. Although most people are eligible, not all are, which is why you need to determine your eligibility. An eye examination by your eye doctor needs to be performed to see what vision problems you have and how serious they are. This determines what type of vision correction is needed and how much laser ablation is required.
